2012

The following standard days off of lessons are planned for calendar year 2012. Except as noted, ongoing year-round tuition payments will cover these days off.

  • Winter Recess 2011-2012 — Saturday, December 24, 2011, through Monday, January 2, 2012
  • Washington’s Birthday / Presidents Day Weekend — Friday, February 17, 2012, through Monday, February 20, 2012 (not taken as paid time off; credit to be provided toward Monday/Friday lessons’ February tuition)
  • Spring Recess — Monday, April 2, 2012, through Friday, April 6, 2012
  • Memorial Day Weekend — Friday, May 25, 2012, through Monday, May 28, 2012 (not taken as paid time off; credit to be provided toward Monday/Friday lessons’ May tuition)
  • Independence Day — Wednesday, July 4, 2012
  • Labor Day — Monday, September 3, 2012
  • Start of School Recess — Tuesday, September 4, 2012, through Friday, September 7, 2012 (dates to be confirmed)
  • Rosh Hashanah — Monday, September 17, 2012
  • Yom Kippur — Wednesday, September 26, 2012
  • Columbus Day — Monday, October 8, 2012
  • Halloween — Wednesday, October 31, 2012
  • Election Day — Tuesday, November 6, 2012
  • Veterans Day — Monday, November 12, 2012
  • Thanksgiving Recess — Wednesday, November 21, 2012, through Friday, November 23, 2012
  • Winter Recess 2012-2013 — Monday, December 24, 2012, through Tuesday, January 1, 2013
  • Two additional lessons per student/group will be taken each year as paid personal time off for teaching staff, dates to be announced to current students. This paid personal time off will be prorated for new students in their first calendar year based on the month they begin lessons: two days for January through June, one day for July through December.

Note: the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., became a standard day off (not taken as paid time off; credit to be provided toward Monday lessons’ January tuition) only after its observation on Monday, January 16, 2012. It will be included in this page’s list of standard days off for calendar years 2013 and later.

2011

As of September 19, 2011, when new policies about standard days off went into effect, the following standard days off of lessons are planned for the remainder of calendar year 2011:

  • Halloween — Monday, October 31, 2011
  • Election Day — Tuesday, November 8, 2011
  • Thanksgiving Recess — Wednesday, November 23, 2011, through Friday, November 25, 2011
  • Winter Recess 2011-2012 — Saturday, December 24, 2011, through Monday, January 2, 2012

Note: No paid personal time off for teaching staff will be scheduled from September 19, 2011, through year-end.
